The platja Gran of Tossa is the main beach of the municipality. Characterized by the unmistakable silhouette of Tossa’s cape and the walled enceinte of Vila Vella (the old town) surrounding its southern side, it is one of the Costa Brava’s most photographed landscapes.

In 2013, the National Geographic magazine rated it one of the top 25 beaches in the world.
